Moscow Ballet

Host Studio

We are proud to be able to host professional ballet productions in association with the Moscow Ballet in Yakima.

In January 2006, CoMotion's artistic director Mindie Chervany was contacted directly by the Moscow Ballet. The Moscow Ballet had heard wonderful feedback about CoMotion's program and Mindie herself. In December of 2006 the first ever Great Russian Nutcracker was a total success with 72 local dancers, and was named "The Best Capitol Theatre Show" of 2006 by the Yakima Herald Republic.

In 2008 CoMotion hosted the United States premiere of The Moscow Ballet's Sleeping Beauty. That same year the Moscow Ballet hired Mindie to travel into Canada to audition, cast and teach their Russian Nutcracker. again in 2010 and 2012 CoMotion and Mindie graciously hosted "The Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker."

We are so proud to have this wonderful relationship, and the ability to host professional ballet productions often in Yakima!
